Nothing lifts our hearts like the joyous peal of wedding bells. In the years since, she’s devoted her life to being all she ought to be and she’s not about to let a man like Carsington entice her to do everything she shouldn’t.īut the rules of attraction can easily overpower the rules of manners and morals, and sometimes even the best behaved girl has to follow her instincts, even if it means risking it all. ![]() Early on, she learned a painful lesson about trust…Īnd temptation. Lady Charlotte is so beautiful, charming, and gracious that no one has noticed what an expert she is at Not Getting Married. He senses a crack under her polished surface, and finding it is a challenge he can’t resist. But there’s something intriguing, and not quite perfect, about faultless Lady Charlotte Hayward. He finds society’s ‘perfect darlings’ exceedingly boring. ![]() Darius Carsington is a spectacularly handsome rake with a rare intelligence and no heart, a man who divides his time between bedding loose moraled women and writing scholarly papers. ![]()

I say the second because I would imagine that those who enjoyed the goings on in "Downton Abbey" would probably also enjoy the goings on in this with it look at the lives and loves of Judith and Loveday as they live in the impressive Nancherrow and deal with the emotion of losing loved ones during the war. I wonder how those who read Rosamunde Pilcher's novel from which "Coming Home" is adapted feel about this TV mini-series/ TV movie? At the same time I also wonder what the fans of "Downton Abbey" feel about it. And even once the war is over it seems that heartbreak is not over for both Judith and Loveday. When tragedy strikes the Carey-Lewis take Judith in and together they deal with the loves and losses as Britain enters the war. Alex attended a performing arts high school program, similar to that portrayed in her book, Diva, then majored in vocal performance at the University of Miami where she graduated with a bachelor of music in 1988. So she read a lot and tried to write a novel but never finished because she had no idea what to write about. At twelve, her family moved to Miami, Florida, where she had a really hard time making friends, due to congenital shyness and a really bad haircut. ![]() She received her first rejection letter (from Highlights magazine) at eight.
